Your smartphones may not support WhatsApp after June 30, 2017

Instant messaging application WhatsApp will stop working after June 30, 2017 for few Symbian, BBOS, Android, Windows, and iOS versions of smartphones. WhatsApp made an official announcement in 2016 that some mobile devices will not support this popular messaging application because those devices do not support WhatsApp’s updated version.

WhatsApp recently made lots of changes and revamped the messaging platform. It revamped the 'Status' feature and introduced video chats, GIF images, two-step verification etc. Initially, the devices with Symbian, BBOS, Android, Windows, and iOS operating system were about to stop supporting WhatsApp from 2016 itself. However, WhatsApp has decided to extend the date till June 2017.

Any device running Android 2.1, any device running Android 2.2, Windows Phone 7, iPhone 3GS,and any device running iOS 6 will not support the messaging application. Those of you with an older version of Android, iOS, Symbian, BBOS, and Windows phone need to upgrade their devices before June this year to enjoy messaging through WhatsApp.
