Britain's Sunday Times has seen a cache of leaked emails that include correspondence between former ICC chief prosecutor, Luis Moreno Ocampo, and Jolie and Clooney.

The emails allegedly show that Ocampo asked Jolie to take part in a 'honeytrap' dinner, along with then husband Brad Pitt, to capture Ugandan warlord Joseph Kony, whose use of child soldiers was highlighted by a viral campaign in 2012. Ocampo wrote that Jolie "has the idea to invite Kony to dinner and then arrest him".

Clooney co-founded a project in 2010 using commercial satellites to fly over South Sudan and to gather evidence of war crimes. Ocampo emailed Clooney "asking for help investigating atrocities committed by Colonel Muammar Gadaffi's regime in Libya during the 2011 civil war," the Sunday Times reported. However, Clooney responded stating that his satellites were not powerful enough.

Jolie is a Special Envoy of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees. The ploy involving Jolie and Kony appears to have amounted to nothing. Kony, the leader of the Lord's Resistance Army in Uganda is apparently still on the run.
