Actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie began her two-day trip to Libya yesterday.
"I have come to Libya for a variety of reasons, to see a country in transition at every level," Jolie said in a statement. "I will be meeting with officials from all sides but above all, listening to the local people in the street. I am here to express solidarity with them."

She also praised Libyans' "extraordinary" participation in their homegrown revolution. The actress, who is an ambassador for the United Nations refugee agency planned to meet with representatives from several organisations delivering assistance to Libyans.
"It is the work of rebuilding and recovery that will determine Libya's future," she said.
Jolie and Brad Pitt have also donated $3,40,000 (Rs 1.66 crore) to the Somali aid group Humanitarian Initiative Just Relief Aid to help it expand its services.
