Former India women's captain Anjum Chopra has been inducted in the management team of the South African women's side ahead of the upcoming ICC Women's World Cup in India

Chopra, Cricket South Africa (CSA) announced, will play a technical advisory role in the squad and will assist the team in areas like mental training and computer-aided analysis. Apart from representing India on the cricket field, Chopra is also a cricket commentator, business coach, author and motivational speaker.

Chopra’s first assignment will be the upcoming five-match ODI series in the West Indies.

Chopra was the first woman cricketer to play 100 ODIs. “The availability of Anjum Chopra to work within the space of South African women’s cricket should close the gap in the international experience between South Africa and the rest of the top women cricketing nations,” Max Jordaan, CSA’s manager of women’s and senior cricket, said.
