There were speculations that actresses Shilpa Saklani and Gautami Kapoor were being considered to play Archana.
The actress, who will be seen on the show after a break of three months, said that she is grateful to Ekta Kapoor and her team who allowed her to take the break.
“Yes, I had indeed taken a break as I wanted to spend some quality time with Sushant (Singh Rajput) and my family. These three months have been a refreshing change of pace,” Ankita said in a statement.
"Now that the show has completed 1,000 episodes, and my request for a much deserved break has been suitably accommodated, I’m back for the second innings on the show. I look forward to an equally enthusiastic response from my fans,” she added.
For the last few months, Ankita’s character, Archana was shown to be in a coma and doctors are trying their best to bring her out of it.
