As anti-graft crusader Anna Hazare recuperates in a Pune hospital, his supporters in Mumbai held a special prayer ceremony for his health. Chanting hymns, Hazare''s supporters prayed for the long life of their revered icon.

Linesh Seth, a supporter said that he hoped that through this kind of community prayer service positive vibrations would reach Hazare and he would recover soon.u00a0"We are praying for Hazare''s health. We came to know that he was not well so we decided that we would hold a prayer service for Anna. We feel that through a community prayer service positive vibrations will reach Anna Hazare," he said.

Another supporter of Hazare, Naresh Thakur said that Hazare was the hope of India''s upliftment urging people from all walks of life to join the prayer service.u00a0"Since the last week Anna''s health is not in good shape. He is the hope of our country''s upliftment. So, in different parts of Mumbai people are holding prayer services for his speedy recovery," he said.


Earlier, doctors attending to Hazare have advised him at least five days of rest taking into consideration his deteriorating health.u00a0Hazare''s Doctor Narendra Kewadia said that the 74-year-old social activist will have to stay in bed for another five days.

"Anna Hazare needs a medical treatment for five to six days. He will have to be in the hospital for at least five days and we will treat him with antibiotics and other medicines. As soon as the he shows improvement, he will be free to decide where he wants to go," said Kewadia.u00a0

"But for the next five days we have asked him to take complete rest and u00a0avoid meeting public," he added.u00a0Concerns over Anna Hazare''s health have been mounting ever since he went on a three-day fast to press his forum''s demand for a strong and effective Lokpal body at Mumbai recently.

The veteran social activist was forced to cut short his hunger strike after a team of specialists advised him to start eating again on the second day of his fast, citing low blood pressure, weakness and threat to his kidneys.
