4 more middle and senior level execs of the hospital now under the scanner

The multi-crore medicine scam at Tata Memorial Hospital is getting murkier. Four more middle and senior level hospital officials have now come under the CBI scanner.

CBI Joint Director (Western Zone) Rishi Raj Singh said, "Inquiries have revealed that the scam was going on since 2005. The involvement of other middle and senior level officers cannot be ruled out."

He added, "We are also keen to know if the suspects used the money earned through the scam to buy property. In that case, disproportionate assets charges can be levied against them."

Meanwhile, the CBI interrogated the six hospitalu00a0 officials for the third consecutive day yesterday. According to a senior CBI officer, four out of the six have already led them to their plush flats in prime locations, which they had rented out.

As the hospital falls under the Department of Atomic Energy, most of the suspects are central government employees. The CBI will also look into their IT returns.

Surprised that the hospital auditors remained clueless, the CBI has turned its attention towards them too.

War on corruption
Rishi Raj Singh has appealed to the public to share information about corrupt central government officials, including CBI officers, on 9833400669 or 9969201916, 22884433 or 22884466. Identity of informers will be protected.
