While the country hailed the Delhi court's decision in the December 16 gang rape case, a two-year-old battles for life after she was kidnapped, raped and then dumped by the roadside
On the day, when the 23-year-old Delhi gang rape victim was awarded justice after her attackers were convicted, in Punjab, a minor was brutally raped and then dumped on the road in the same way that the medical student was flung out of the bus after the brutal incident.
The two-year-old, who was bleeding and in a critical state, is now battling for her life in a hospital. Police interrogations revealed that the child’s father is a labourer. The girl’s father told the police that he could not find his child when he woke up at 2.30 in the night.
