Anurag Kashyap changes gears for Ranbir...
The director has apparently postponed the promotions of his now-ready film 'Ugly' in order to begin work on his upcoming RK starrer 'Bombay Velvet'
Securing Ranbir Kapoor’s dates is definitely no mean feat and who knows it better than Anurag Kashyap. The filmmaker apparently has kept the team of his other project Ugly waiting for its promotions to carry on work on his RK starrer Bombay Velvet.
Ugly’s shoot schedule had wrapped up in May, post which the film went for postproduction work. Anurag is said to have wanted to spearhead the promotions of the film himself as the cast consists of newcomers. The filmmaker now has apparently put that on hold in order to be able to utilise Ranbir’s dates for his other movie.
Says a source, “Ugly is now complete and the project is very close to Anurag’s heart as he has written the film himself. Both films are dear to him but Bombay Velvet seems to be more commercially viable. After all, no one would want to waste Ranbir’s dates.” Says a unit hand, “Ugly’s promotions will start soon after Anurag finishes the first schedule of his RK-Anushka Sharma starrer in the coming days.” Anurag remained unavailable for comment.
