Apparently, Arjun Kapoor has been approached to play the legendary cricketer Kapil Dev in a film based on the 1983 World Cup
After his latest outing, 'Tevar', failed at the box-office, Arjun Kapoor has a reason to smile. If the latest buzz in the industry is to be believed, then the actor has been approached to play Kapil Dev in a film based on the 1983 World Cup.
According to a source, "Arjun has been approached and he is contemplating. Vishnu Vardhan Induri, the founder and MD of CCL, who is planning the project, has already met the actor with the script.
He has also approached actors for essaying the other characters but nothing has been finalised as of now. We will make an official announcement once every thing is in place."
A source close to the actor says, "It's a big responsibility to portray the character of Kapil Dev and Arjun wants to take his time to decide. He hasn't given his final answer but the chances of him essaying the role of the cricketer are high."
When contacted Arjun's spokesperson chose not to comment on the matter.
