Los Angeles: Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger was reportedly considering a run for the US senate by replacing Democratic Senate Dianne Feinstein in 2018. But the former California republican governor denied all the rumours by making a statement on social media.

The actor took tohis Facebook account and claiming that he wouldn't run for senate, reports aceshowbiz.com.

"I'm deeply flattered by all of the people who have approached me about running for Senate...But my mission right now is to bring sanity to Washington through redistricting reform like we passed here in California," Schwarzenegger wrote.

The actor continued: "Gerrymandering has completely broken our political system and I believe my best platform to help repair it is from the outside, by campaigning for independent redistricting commissions. Thank you for your kind messages and all of the support and I hope you'll join me in my battle against gerrymandering with the same enthusiasm."

Rumours of Schwarzenegger considering a senate run got a lot of supports from the US citizen including GOP political consultant Luis Alvarado. He said that Schwarzenegger's return to politics would be "almost like a silver bullet" to counter President Donald Trump.

The actor and the president have been involved in Twitter feud ever since the presidential election last year.

Mocking Schwarzenegger's decision to quit "The Celebrity Apprentice", Trump tweeted: "Arnold Schwarzenegger isn't voluntarily leaving 'The Apprentice', he was fired by his bad (pathetic) ratings, not by me. Sad end to great show."
