Coast Guard officials yesterday arrested five crewmembers from a ship after intelligence agencies intercepted a satellite phone conversation between them and a Dubai resident, the alleged owner of the boat
After receiving the tip-off, the Coast Guard dispatched an interceptor ship and as they neared the vessel, about 12 km from the city’s coast, they spotted a crewmember flinging the satellite phone into the water.
This suspicious act compelled the security personnel to apprehend the men. Those arrested have been identified as Ahmad Adams Pleza (45), Iqbal Hasan Omi (41), Yakub Abu Bakar (43), Abdul Razaq Usman (32), all residents of Bhuj, while the fifth person Yanus Usam Bolium (30) is a Kutch resident. u00a0
