Introduce your child to theatre, natural materials and interesting games at the launch of a performance arts hub for children
"While growing up, we had many options to experience the arts. That is missing now," feels Choiti Ghosh, founder of Sunday Oasis, an art collective that promotes exclusive creative experiences for children every Sunday through plays, activities, storytelling and dialogue.

An object theatre practitioner and founding member of Tram Arts Trust, Ghosh stresses on the importance of using everyday objects for kids' activities. "Object theatre emerged from puppetry; a large part of what we do is for children," she says. This Sunday, three activities will be held at the launch to encourage children to explore everyday objects.
Loveleen Misra
While Prerna Bageria's Mind and Matter Trail aims to pique a toddler's curiosity towards natural objects like clay, twigs and leaves, actor Loveleen Misra will facilitate Game Gully, an introductory session of childhood games like gilli danda and pitthoo for older kids. Theatre games will also be a part of the session. "They are the foundation of every performing art workshop, since it's the first step in aligning the mind and the body," explains Ghosh.
The day ends with an immersive show by comedian and art designer Dhanendra Kawde. It will initiate a journey to discover pictures, sounds, and images made by water. "Instead of saying 'save water', why not sensitise young minds to its importance?" he asks. Each activity will be preceded by an orientation with parents.
