Ravindra Jadeja and David Warner were involved in an ugly spat during Day Two of the fourth Test between India and Australia here on Saturday.

At one stage, it got ugly at the Kotla

It began with Australia pacer James Pattinsonu00a0exchanging few words with Jadeja, something which did not go down well with India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni. When Pattinson came to bowl, one of the umpires warned Dhoni for running onto the pitch.

Dhoni tried to settle the matter with a smile, but Warner was animated at mid-on. Jadeja, who was at the non-striker’s end, retorted by showing the handle of his bat.

This further provoked the Aussie opener and he complained to the umpire. The on-field umpires then had a word with Jadeja. Thereafter, both Dhoni and Shane Watson were called in resolve the matter. But that didn’t deter the warring duo from having another bout of sledging, which also involved Watson and Dhoni.

In the same over, fielder Peter Siddle threw a ball from square-leg which narrowly missed Dhoni. After the over, both on-field umpires had a long chat with Dhoni, Jadeja and Watson.u00a0
