Anti-Terrorism Squad chief Rakesh Maria delivered a lecture on 'Organised Crime and its Impact' at the Centre for Police Research in Pashan yesterday.
An all-India IPS officers' vertical interaction course was organised at the CPR, in which about 20 senior officers and experts shared their experience and interacted with their seniors. The seminar, which will see several senior officials and experts speak, will continue till Saturday.
However, the lecture series being a closed-door 'brainstorming session' was not allowed to be covered by the media.

Sources said that Maria refused to speak on the German Bakery blast case and only focused on the Organised Crime syndicates and its impact. The 1993 blast case was taken as a case study, the sources said.
The course director and Special Inspector General of Police Madhav Karve said: "The course was designed with the help of Bureau of Police Research and Development in New Delhi. This is the third year of the lecture series organised in Pune."
