Ranbir Kapoor apparently has morbid fear of heights and water. However, that couldn’t keep him from performing some quirky stunts in his upcoming film. And interestingly, his friend and director Ayan Mukerji gave him moral support by performing them beforehand!u00a0

While shooting for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ranbir and Deepika Padukone were supposed to enact a series of rather scary scenes. To make things worse, the young actor even had misgivings about his act and was nervous.

“When we were shooting at a fort in Rajasthan, Ranbir and Deepika were made to sit at the edge with a drop of 250 feet below. Since Ranbir is acrophobic, it induced vertigo in him. However, Ayan encouraged him by sitting on the edge first and showing him how simple it was,” says a source.

The episode didn’t end there. In Manali, while shooting a song sequence, Ayan convinced both the actors to stand at the peak of a mountain surrounded by air that had very little oxygen. “In the south of France, Ayan convinced Ranbir to jump into the sea. Ranbir is terrified of water and doesn’t even know how to swim but still the shoot went smoothly,” adds the source.

Laughing about the incidents, Ayan says, “I think the desire to torture one another is mutual when it comes to Ranbir and me. I get a weird kick from getting him to do stuff he really doesn’t want to. The only way he got back at me was by insisting I do all of it before he did the same for the shot.”u00a0
