Mohammed Azharuddin's son Ayazuddin was cautioned over the dangers of speeding by his college officials; young cricketer fighting for survival in a Hyderabad hospital

Former India captain Mohammed Azharuddin's son Mohammed Ayazuddin, who met with a serious accident on Sunday, was warned against reckless driving. This was disclosed by his college principal, Rama Rao. Ayazuddin, who went on a bike ride with his cousin Ajmal-ur-Rahman, is however fighting for his life after the accident which took place on the outskirts of Hyderabad early on Sunday. Rahman (16) and Ayazuddin (19) were rushed to the Apollo Hospital in Jubilee Hills at 9.45 am but Azhar's nephew Rahman was declared dead after one-and-a-half hours.

According to a medical bulletin, Ayazuddin responded to resuscitation measure and was taken for emergency surgery to stop bleeding in his chest. Speaking from St Mary's College in Hyderabad, principal Rao said, "we only knew him as an aspiring cricketer, but our two physical directors, Danikel and Vijay Bhaskar Reddy, knew about his weekend outings and had warned him about reckless driving."

"We arranged a special prayer in the morning for his speedy recovery and the students in the auditorium were guided about the safety measures," the principal added. "Naureen (Ayazuddin's mother) is a regular visitor to the college and Ayazuddin was admitted to our college by Naureen and her father. They visited this college at least four-five times," the principal added.
