After all, it’s one of those themes our desi film-writers never seem to give up on. Junior B came close to essaying a dual role in Rohit Shetty’s Bol Bachchan and the film went on to be a hit at the box-office. The tall actor will be next seen portraying two separate characters in Farah Khan’s upcoming Happy New Year. The shooting for the project will commence in the first week of September and release by March of 2014.
Salman Khan is said to have agreed to do a double role in Sooraj Barjatya’s next. David Dhawan’s Judwaa (1997) was the last film in which the Dabangg star played two characters simultaneously. Apparently, Sallu has already scheduled 160 days for the film and it’s scheduled to go on the floors in 2014 and will be released during Diwali of 2015.
Deewane (2000) was the last film that showcased Ajay in dual role. For choreographer-turned-director Prabhudheva’s next, the actor is rumoured to be playing two avatars. The film is apparently a big-budget caper and currently in the writing stage. According to some insiders, the Son of Sardaar star is expected to play the antagonist as well as the protagonist in the flick.
Kat is said to have been approached to play the twin protagonists in the remake of the ’70s hit Seeta Aur Geeta. The actress is apparently very fond of the original movie starring Hema Malini. While Rohan Sippy - son of Ramesh Sippy who directed the original film - has dismissed rumours by stating that his father is not helming the project, industry insiders think it’s just a matter of time before the project gets going.
