The sight gags in 'Bad Moms' are funny enough, the writing though is pretty much pedestrian and the exaggerations are obviously not intended to be mean or hurtful to either sex. So just take it in like it is (mindless entertainer)…if you care!

'Bad Moms' - Movie Review

'Bad Moms'
U/A; Comedy
Directors: Jon Lucas, Scott Moore
Cast: Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, Christina Apllegate, Emjay Anthony, Kathyrn Hann, Jay Jablonski, Jada Pinkett Smith, Jay Hernandez
Rating:

Three overstressed, overworked mothers (Mila Kunis, Kristen Bell, and Kathryn Hahn) decide to blow off their responsibilities and have some fun, but their wild ways cause them to clash with a rival mommy (Christina Applegate) and her henchwomen who are far more dedicated to preserving the facade of their perfect life than living it like it really is.

They may be older but none the wiser, these Moms play out as over exaggerated versions of the out-of-control female teen set that Hollywood seems to have immortalized over the years with film after film exploiting their overbearing attitude to life.

In this film the Moms are either do-it-all super efficient ones or if not, deemed as utter failures. And their children are presented as entitled little monsters who look on their Moms as slaves to their every demand.

Imagine a school where the PTA controls everything, the principal is merely a figurehead and the sports coach is easily threatened into submission. That is the unreal universe in which we find ourselves for around 101 minutes of over stressed (at least for the mothers in it) runtime. The writers of ‘The Hangover’ get the Moms to drink a tank load and play wild but underlining it all is the responsibility to bring up kids (singlehandedly) who talk back and hit them with recriminations and complaints. It’s a thankless job and when the women decide enough is enough, everything turns turtle as expected. The sight gags are funny enough, the writing though is pretty much pedestrian and the exaggerations are obviously not intended to be mean or hurtful to either sex.

So just take it in like it is (mindless entertainer)…if you care!
