World No 87 Arvind Bhat defeated Denmark's World No 25 Hans-Kristian Vittinghus to win the German Open title in a match lasting an hour.
The 34-year old Bangalorean won a tight first game 24-22 before the Dane made a comeback in the second game to take the match into a deciding third game.
In the final game, Bhat maintained his composure after the water break to take the final nine points and the match 24-22, 19-21, 21-12.
