A concert in Bandra will recreate a traditional darbar setup, in an evening of poetry, music and dance
The Bandra Fort is all set to get transformed into a space that will transport you to a bygone era as it plays host to a new traditional court mehfil series titled, Darbari Mehfil.
Dr Soma Ghosh in a concert
Through this project, traditional darbar scenes will be recreated with the help of a special dramatic presentation, which will include ghazals by Dr Soma Ghosh and a dance performance.
The idea behind the session will be to give expression and rhythm to the songs. There will also be contributions by poets and shayars who will present snippets.
The concert will move to Chet Singh Palace in Varanasi and Purana Quila in Delhi with the intent to promote the rich Indian parampara and familiarise the country’s urban youth with this forgotten style of presentation of Indian art forms.
On: Today, 7 pm onwards
At: Bandra Fort, Byramji Jeejeebhoy Road, Bandstand Road.
