According to German daily Bild, the Manchester United star Schweinsteiger (31), who came on as a late substitute and scored a last-minute goal against Ukraine in Germany’s opening fixture in Paris on Sunday, will marry Ivanovic (28) on July 12. However, the location is said to be a secret one, which the couple will only disclose at the last minute.
According to the report, invitations have already been sent out to guests with a request that they keep themselves free between July 11 and 13. The Euro 2016 final is on July 10. The guests have been instructed to arrive at Munich airport a day after the Euro ‘16 final to be whisked away on a private jet to an unannounced destination, where the wedding is scheduled to take place on July 12.
Though there is no official word from the couple, according to sources some of the world’s top tennis stars including Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Roger Federer, and footballers, including the German national team and the Man United team will attend the wedding.
Reports of Schweinsteiger and Ivanovic dating first surfaced after Germany won the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil. And rumours of their marriage sparked off soon after Germany’s Angelique Kerber said after her Australian Open win in Melbourne that she was looking forward to Schweinsteiger and Ivanovic’s wedding after receiving a congratulatory note and photograph of the couple.
