Watch three Pune bands perform live as they compete to win the Hard Rock Cafe music competition

Hard Rock Cafe is giving local artistes a chance to compete against bands from across the world for an opportunity to participate in a world tour, cut an album and music video as part of Hard Rock Records, and receive $10,000 in terms of new gear.

As part of that event, on March 14, there will be semifinals where bands such as Hourglass Inversion, Absolute Division and Raastey will perform live.

Hourglass Inversion

Amit Khadikar from the band Hourglass Inversion said that they will concentrate more on original music rather than covers. The band will be participating in the battle of the bands for the first time. Khadikar added that they have been practicing for the event as well.

The band Absolute Division is a project taken up by Adarsh Bhushan in August 2012. Absolute Division plays songs that deal with social, personal and political issues.

Music band Raastey was formed when three friends joined hands to make music. Jishnu Varma is a singer with a classical touch and a trained percussionist, Utkarsh Pandey is the vocalist of the band with a western style of singing and also the lyricist of the band. Prabhat Dutta plays the guitar and is the composer.

The battle of the bands includes public online voting. In its third phase, nine finalists from various cities will battle it out in live events following which a final winner will be selected from every location. The Pune finals will be held on March 21 and 28.
