Colombian football star James Rodriguez's ex-wife Daniela Ospina, 24, revealed that the reason she split with him after six years of marriage is because she didn't want to move with him to Germany. In fact, she wanted to continue her career as a model and entrepreneur in both Colombia and Spain.

This effectively negates reports that it was his alleged affair with model Helga Lovekaty that they spilt. Rodriguez, who moved to Bayern Munich on loan from Real Madrid recently, has daughter Salome, (4) with Ospina. "I did not want to travel to Germany. James had decided to go to Bayern Munich to give a twist to his career. It was obviously difficult and sad, but thanks to god we have managed it with a lot of maturity and calmness," she told British tabloid The Sun.

She added that they both don't want their daughter to suffer for their mistakes. "We only want to protect our child because when we decided to have her, we knew it was a lifelong responsibility. She must not pay for our mistakes," she said.
