Bayern Munich yesterday rubbished reports they are set to swoop for Cristiano Ronaldo - with the German giants' chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge insisting it's pure fantasy.
Italy's 'Gazzetta dello Sport' had speculated that Bayern is set to swoop for Ronaldo. But Bayern denied the rumours. "We are accustomed to speculation on possible arrivals and departures," wrote Rummenigge in the statement.
"We do not comment on these rumours. But in the case of Cristiano Ronaldo, we want to clarify once and for all that this rumour has no basis and must be referred to in the realm of fables."
