Beethoven resurrected

You have heard him in movies; you must have also been mesmerised by his unparalleled Classical compositions. Such is the grace of a Beethoven symphony that has swept people off their feet for over 180 years. Punekars now have the opportunity to listen to a rendition of the Maestro’s sounds by the French string group Trio HNG. The Poona Music Society, in association with Palazzetto Bru Zane -- Centre de Musique Romantique Française and Alliance Française de Pune are hosting the event.

Hermann narrates the story of how the musicians came together. “It’s all in the family. I met Hugues and Nicolas through my wife. Hugues is my wife’s brother, but he was a renowned violinist even before we met. And Nicolas is the principal violist of my wife’s orchestra -- the Orchestre National de France and my wife couldn’t stop ranting about his skills,” he reminisces. “

Hermann emphasises that they believe in infusing energy in their performances and encourage people to exchange thoughts and connect with them. “The driving force behind our act is the great love of music and not only Western Classical music at that,” he adds.  The trio feel that Indian music is phenomenal and having performed in India before, the trio is all praises for the country: “I am an admirer of Pt Hariprasad Chaurasia and have a special place in my heart for Indian music. I believe in making youngsters aware of Classical music, which is something we are doing as well,” concludes Hermann.
