The mother of six told Total Film magazine that her first trip changed her completely, the Daily Express reported. "They''re not crying because they don''t have time for it and I''m not helping them by just feeling for them. I had to stay practical and focused," she said.

Jolie has also kept a diary to help deal with some of the harrowing scenes, which she witnessed during her travels to the Third World countries.
