“So, tell me something about our performance venue in your city,” says Philippe Herreweghe, conductor of the Royal Flemish Philharmonic orchestra, on the phone from Shanghai as he talks about the newly opened concert hall in his city, Antwerp. Ever in demand as a guest conductor, Herreweghe has over 100 recordings to his credit. The Belgium-based orchestra, which has performed at concert halls all over the world, is in its 60th year.

Herreweghe and New York-based violinist Stefan Jackiw, (guest soloist with the orchestra) who is known for his impeccable technique, will mesmerise Mumbai for the first time. Western Classical music buffs can expect to listen to works by Brahms, Mendelssohn, Beethoven and Mozart.
