Los Angeles: Ben Foster is the new addition to the growing cast of Ron Howard's 'Inferno' that already includes names like Tom Hanks, Felicity Jones and Irrfan Khan.
An adaptation of the Dan Brown novel of the same name, the movie will see Tom Hanks returning as symbologist Robert Langdon to solve another mystery.
Ben Foster is in negotiations to play a key villainous role in the Sony and Imagine Entertainment's latest Brown adaptation, said the Hollywood Reporter.
The story sees Robert Langdon drawn into a conspiracy to unleash a deadly plague centered on Dante's Inferno, the 14th century epic poem about the nine circles of hell.
Ben Foster will play a genius scientist who is obsessed with Inferno and has also dreamed up a plot to solve the world's overpopulation problem by releasing a virus. Felicity Jones will play Dr Sienna Brooks, Irrfan to play Harry Sims 'The Provost', Sidse Babett Knudsen as Dr Elizabeth Sinskey and Omar Sy as Christoph Bruder.
