Bento defends Ronaldo

Portugal coach Paulo Bento defended his misfiring ace Cristiano Ronaldo on the eve of the clash against Holland.

Portugal need a win to ensure safe passage into the quarter-finals. “Everyone has the right to miss chances, myself included,” Bento said when asked about Ronaldo having missed scoring opportunities. “I would have him liked to score. The goals will come. The team won, and that’s what matters,” he added.
