“This is my first hat-trick in hockey. I used to play football earlier, but kept falling ill frequently due to dust allergy. Since, hockey is played on grass and astro truf there is less dust here, so I gave up football last year,” Axel said later.
Stanislaus coach Joshua Vessaokar however, felt the margin of victory should have been higher. “We converted most of our penalty corners but we should have scored at least four more goals considering this is our home ground,” he said.
Bosco’s thump St Joseph’s 6-0 to enter U-8 semis
Defending champions Don Bosco (Matunga) thumped their Wadala neighbours St Joseph’s 6-0 to storm into the semi-finals of the MSSA inter-school football tournament at Azad Maidan yesterday. Harsh Palande scored five goals including a neat hat-trick for Bosco’s, while Zash Ferro added one to complete the rout.
