Bikers loot Rs 18 Lakh

Bike-borne assailants are on the prowl again. Two employees of a businessman were attacked and robbed of Rs 18 lakh by eight bikers in Civil Lines area of north Delhi late on Wednesday night. Police said they will lodge an FIR after taking the victims' statements.

"Vijay and Monu work as collection agents in the firm of Mahender Aggarwal who deals in electronics and has a shop in Lajpat Rai market. Both were returning to the office in an auto rickshaw. When they approached the Civil Lines area they were intercepted by eight persons who were travelling on four bikes.

The bikers dragged the duo out of the auto rickshaw, brutally beat them up and robbed them of the whole cash. The bikers then rode away along with the loot, threatening the victims of dire consequences if the tried to chase them or raise an alarm," said a police source. The duo made a call to the PCR after the assailants had fled from the area. "It is too early to make any comments," said a senior police officer adding that they were yet to lodge an FIR.
