Bill Gates has put his billions to good use again this Christmas by surreptitiously taking part in Reddit's secret Santa present exchange.
The billionaire philanthropist made one girl’s year with his gift of a stuffed cow, along with a charitable donation in her name to the non-profit organisation Heifer International, which “gives families in need the right tools such as animals, seeds, clean water, safe stoves or a chance for girls to go to school.”

Though he simply signed off as “Bill”, Gates rather gave the game away, as he also included a picture of himself holding the stuffed cow. The lucky recipient, who goes by the name of NY1227 on Reddit, said when she realised who had sent her the package her jaw hit the floor. In a post titled “Spoiler alert: Bill Gates did not get you, because he got me”, the Reddit user said: “Oh... wait. Holy s---. Time out. And then it finally hit me. All the presents I had just torn open, the charity, everything - was from Bill Gates... my jaw hit the ever loving floor.”

I feel like we’re friends now!).” NY1227 was unknowingly allocated Gates by Reddit’s system and willingly shipped a secret Santa package. A spokesman for Gates said he joined the gift exchange to raise awareness for Heifer International - the charity on which his secret Santa was based.
