BJP city unit members say they can’t wait to witness the ‘historic’ moment when the Prime Minister will be sworn in along with his council of ministers
The state guesthouse — Maharashtra Sadan — in New Delhi is bubbling over with Bhartiya Janata Party leaders from across the state, who are in the Capital to attend the swearing in ceremony of Prime Minister-elect Narendra Modi. And leaders of the party’s Pune wing are not lagging behind.
Six corporators and four office bearers from the city BJP unit are in New Delhi to witness the ‘historic’ moment when their leader will take oath as the 14th PM of the country today.

Speaking to mid-day, Bhartiya Janata Party’s (BJP) western Maharashtra spokesperson Shripad Dhekane said, “This is the first time that we will be attending the swearing-in ceremony of a Prime Minister. The ceremony may not be new for those from Delhi, but it is a completely new experience for me. Unprecedented security arrangements have been made in the Capital.”
Dhekane said that as Pune’s newly elected MP, Anil Shirole, who is also a first-time MP, was entitled to get 10 invitee passes. Re-elected MPs have been given 20 passes for the ceremony.
Budhwar Peth Corporator Hemant Rasane, who is not only attending a swearing-in for the first time but had also never been to Maharashtra Sadan before this, said, “I am very excited to witness the historic moment when Modiji and his council of ministers will take oath. If the security arrangements permit, I would like to gift a framed photo of the Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati idol to Modi.”

Rasane was the city coordinator for the celebration that took place after the announcement of the Lok Sabha election results on May 16.
Instructions
As per information given by leaders of the city wing the city wing leaders, the invitees have been instructed to reach Rashtrapati Bhavan (the venue of the swearing-in ceremony) at 5 pm today, and they will have to go through a three-tier security check.
“We are also eager to see how many MPs from Maharashtra get ministerial berths,” said Rajesh Pande, general secretary of the BJP’s Pune wing, adding that Delhi has been ‘modified’ since the past couple of days.
