These site engineers have been identified as Amar Rajaram Kamble (32) of M/s Relcon, infraprojects Ltd, Vel Maharajan Nadar (28) of M/s Relcon infra projects ltd, Pravin Prabhakar Panchal (21) of M/s Relcon- RK Madhani Co. (JV), Dilip Ashok Rathod (36) of M/s RPS-KR Construction (JV) and Viraj Ramesh Patil (36) of M/s Mahavir Roads & Infra. They will be produced in the court on Tuesday.
Like the previously arrested four site engineers, their job was also to check if the work was being carried out properly. They would issue request for inspection to the audit firms after completion of the work as per norms. The site engineers are representative of the contractor firms, and were the final authority to sign the official documents pertaining to the contract work.
Earlier police arrested 10 auditors of the two, third party audit firms and four site engineers, for allegedly deliberately wrongly verifying the work done on the roads and not keeping vigilance when the road works were being undertaken, respectively.
