BMC's clean-up campaign: Illegal posters at headquarters removed

mid-day’s page one story yesterday on illegal posters at the BMC headquarters in Fort, including those bearing Arun Gawli and his daughter and Akhil Bhartiya Sena corporator Geeta Gawli’s faces, prompted an immediate reaction, with them being taken down the same day.

Senior BMC officials said they have asked the concerned staff to prevent such posters being put up henceforth, and arrange for them to be taken down immediately if they are. “We are seeing the building’s walls this clean after a very long time.


It’s a good thing that the ugly posters are gone. We always wanted to initiate action, but were reluctant because of the political names involved,” said a BMC official. Additional Commissioner Mohan Adtani could not be reached for comment.
