The BMC has roped in Salman Khan to as ambassador for anti-open defecation campaign after the Bollywood star complained of people defecating themselves outside his house at Bandstand in Bandra.


Apart from being the face of the municipal corporation's efforts to rid the city of open defecation, Salman's Being Human will donate five mobile toilets to the BMC which will be stationed in the Bandstand area near his residence.


According to media reports, Salman is likely to meet Municipal Commissioner Ajoy Mehta soon and decide on the shape and tenor of the anti-open defecation campaign. Officials said when the actor met BMC officials last week, he had expressed concern about the health hazard posed by open defecation to the residents of Bandstand and the hundreds who visit the promenade every day.

Civic officials said that Salman Khan had expressed concern about the health hazard posed by open defecation to the residents of Bandstand as well as the number of tourists visiting the area.
