Known for her fiery speeches in North India, 15-year-old Sadhna Bharti will work her charm for Congress during the Assembly polls

Dynamites come in small packages and 15-year-old Sadhna Bharti is one of them.

This Std X student from Etah in Uttar Pradesh is the star campaigner for Congress candidates across the state for the Assembly elections.

Known to draw huge crowds in north Indian states like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, Bharti will work the same magic in Mumbai with her fiery speeches.

A child prodigy of sorts, Bharti started rendering discourses on religion and humanity from the age of three.

Future goals

"I decided to campaign for the Congress, as I was impressed with Sonia Gandhi and her secular credentials when I met her in 2003," said Bharti, who was once pitted against former BJP leader Uma Bharati during a campaign.

"I am good at studies and want to be a journalist," she added.

Message to masses

Bharti is clear about what she wants to tell the masses. "I will speak on national issues of development such as the midday meal, NREGA scheme,u00a0the Pradhan Mantri Grameen Sadak Yojana schemes and secularism," she said.

According to Chandra-shekhar Shukla, president of Sadhna Bharti Election Campaign Committee, the girl was asked to campaign on the directions of Sonia Gandhi.

"She will share dais with Soniaji at one public meeting, and will campaign in the state till October 11," he said.
