Boxer Rubin 'The Hurricane' Carter passes away at age 76

Rubin Carter, who was wrongly convicted of murder which was a huge example of racial injustice, died in his sleep on April 20.

Rubin Carter spent 19 years in jail after being convicted for three different murders (1967 and 1976). He was then set free in the year 1985.

Rubin Carter never became a world champion but has a record of 27-12-1 including 19 knockouts.

A Hollywood movie, 'The Hurricane' made in 1999, was based on his real-life story and starred actor Denzel Washington in the title role.
