Pitt's comment was a subtle dig at US President Donald Trump's recent withdrawal from the Paris Accord, which sets out a global action plan to put the world on track to avoid climate change by limiting global warming.
"The Lord saw the wickedness of man was great, and the Lord said, 'I will destroy man, who I have created, from the face of the Earth.' So don't forget your sunscreen," Pitt added.
The 53-year-old actor had previously appeared on the comedian's late night news program last week, where he joked there was "no future" in the wake of Trump.
