Thank God, it's Thursday -- we rarely say this because there's still a day to go before the nights when 'bottles' are opened, glasses are filled with a topping of ice.but what if you want to catch up with some friends on a worku00a0 day over a couple of drinks and a splendid spread of food? Try News Cafe, the famous South African chain where the 'spirits' of cocktails meet the luxury of a suave coffee shop and the satisfaction of a diner. We recently tried their all new menu, and this is how we recollect our visit. Read on.

It's so refreshing and filling that the moment I reached home I tried Googling its recipe. Their soup section, which is a new addition, has minestrone, spicy black bean, chunky tomato and beef and barley variants. Their winner is the 'finger food' segment -- a perfect package of taste and variety.

We loved chicken wings, bruschetta platter and nachos. While everything was going fine, the way we wrapped up wasn't equally exciting. The dessert -- chocolate lava cake -- is a big time disappointment. I've tried far better versions at Defence Colony.
Several other sweet-enders like ganache were not even available, something which is even more worrying. The service too is a bit negligent since the service staff looks busy with themselves. Music is another area for improvement.
Drink is king
Single malts, sparkling wines, smoothies, martinis and everything else that you love on the bar rack is ready to be served. They make the best Cosmopolitan in town, the way you love it. This place deserves a swipe of your
plastic money. go for it.
