Man kills wife over her affair with his brother, but the brother kills him before he can get him too

An attempt to put an end to his wife's wanton ways by killing her and his own brotheru00a0-- her loveru00a0-- cost a man his life.

The deceased, Anjaneya Reddy (36), was serving a seven-year jail term for murder of another man who had an affair with his wife.

Anjaneya had hoped of a happy ever after, but his dreams were shattered when he learnt in jail that his wife Papamma was cheating on him again, and this time her lover was his own brother, Shrinivas.

A bitter Anjaneya then plotted to kill both upon his return from jail. He managed to kill Papamma, but Shrinivas got a whiff of his plans, and with the help of two friends, killed Anjaneya.

The brothers lived amicably until they got married. Shrinivas has had an affair with Papamma, and they were in love. But their parents decided to marry Papamma to Anjaneya, because they thought Shrinivas was too old for the girl.

It was rumuored that Papamma had had affairs with other men too. After their marriage, she continued her other relationships. When Anjaneya came to know of it, he warned her, but she paid no heed. In 2002, Anjaneya caught her with a lover in Kadadanamari village, and killed him. He was arrested and sentenced to jail for seven years.

In the meanwhile, Papamma continued her affair with Shrinivas, and decided to divorce Anjaneya after his release.However, Anjaneya came to know about this affair, and decided to kill the lovers. Within 15 days of his release, he plotted and killed Papamma, and went underground. He also let it be known that he wanted to kill Shrinivas.

But Shrinivas got to know that his brother was baying for his blood and decided that he would kill him instead. For this, he asked two of his friendsu00a0-- V Shivanna and S Bhaireddy, to help him, in return of Rs 10,000 each.

As planned, the trio tracked Anjaneya, kidnapped him, and killed him. They buried the body in a field.u00a0 Srinivas returned to Byapanhalli, and acted normal. This was in January 2010.

But as they say, such crimes cannot be hidden for long. After the Chintamani police got a wind of the matter, and informed to Bangalore police, who in turn, gave the case of Byapanhalli police. After investigations, the trio was finally arrested on November 27, and was sent to judicial custody.

In his confession, Shrinivas said that he killed his brother since he had already killed twice, and so he feared for his own life.

PIu00a0 K V Shrinivas from Byapanahalli police station said, "We will recover Anjaneya's body which has been buried in a farm since the past 10 months. We have also detained two more persons in this regard."
