One would assume that being the CM, Yediyurappa would know that he is supposed to extend his left hand for the indelible ink.

However, in full view of several cameramen, a beaming BSY extended his right hand for the ink--and the election official actually marked the extended hand instead of putting the mark on the left hand's index finger.

Only the index finger of the left hand is used for the indelible ink. The middle finger of the left hand is used for repolling.
