Steven Thompson's two goals for Burnley in a 3-1 FA Cup victory over Premiership side West Bromwich Albion on a wintry yesterday night kept up their giant-killing efforts in the cups.

Wade Elliot's long-range volley on the stroke of half-time started things off and Thompson fired home Burnley's second in the 52nd minute of this fourth round replay.

Under-strength Albion were given hope by Gianni Zuiverloon's sweet 60th-minute strike, but in-form Thompson netted again late on for his fourth goal in two games to seal Burnley's fourth Premier League scalp of the season.

Burnley play the winner of the Arsenal versus Cardiff fixture which was called off because of heavy snow falls in Britain, also prompting many fixture postponements in the English League on Tuesday night.
