Inter Milan's Argentine midfielder Esteban Cambiasso yesterday escaped with a one match ban from Serie A officials for a nasty challenge on Juventus striker Sebastian Giovinco.
Cambiasso was sent off after lashing out at Giovinco late in the 2-1 defeat to the league leaders on Saturday, leaving the striker writhing on the ground in agony clutching his ankle.

Cambiasso saw red for the first time in a Serie A career stretching back 277 games, but went to the Juventus dressing room immediately after the game to apologise for his actions.
Despite expectations he would be suspended for several games, he will now only miss next week’s visit of Atalanta.
