Cashing in on f-1 fever
Move over Ajmal Kasab and Anna Hazare, the Vettels and the Schumis are here. While the actual race is still a long way to go, F1 fever is growing in leaps and bounds. After hanging Ajmal Kasab and playing Angry Anna, it's time for some Formula 1 racing. Yes, we are talking about the virtual world.
F1 inspired T-shirts are a rage
Keeping the increasing craze about Formula One racing among the young in mind, the gaming sites are flooded with games on F1 and merchandise sites are cashing in on it by selling theme T-shirts online. "The growing interest among the young towards racing in different forms is very visible, and that's how you see the introduction of high speed racing cars in our popular game about cars -- The Great Indian Parking Wars," says Rahul Razdan, president (product and operations), ibibo.com.
"The element of excitement comes when the player parks his car in his friend's street and/or challans other cars illegally parked," adds Razdan. Playing games online is one thing, the other 'in' thing this season is sporting an F1 T-shirt. "We have received quite a few requests for T-shirts surrounding this sport. Our artists have already started making designs around F1 and soon we will launch some of these on our site," says Kashyap Dalal, CEO, Inkfruit.com.
He adds, "We are planning to launch around two-three designs in this collection. The designs are currently under voting and the ones that are most popular amongst our fans will be made available. They will echo the speed and exhilaration that F1 as a sport stands for." So speed up as the websites offer you the things you would only aspire for in the real world.
