High Grounds cops bring in feline help to save themselves from rodents that had made the police station their romping grounds

As the station is a makeshift arrangement made of plastic sheets owing to road widening in the city, it had become a paradise for rats.
Until recently, over 200 rats roamed freely around the police station. The rat infestation reached its pinnacle when a rat bit PSI Prem Singh.
Frustrated with no one bothered about their woes,u00a0 Singh brought a cat to tackle the infestation.

Shrinivas Murthy, assistant sub-inspector, said, "Before bringing the cat, we faced too many problems. But, now the situation has improved."

But their smiles didn't last long, as now there is a new problem lice.
A police official stated that the parasite made its presence felt because of the cat. "We can't stop itching, thanks to this parasite," he added.
Murthy added, "This tiny insect is more dangerous than mosquitoes. We are frustrated, but what can we do? We are resigned to this fate."
After many attempts the department has passed a proposal for a site to construct a new police station, but for now, the suffering cops will have to make do with what they have.
