"My friendship with ribbon embroidery started about eight years ago when a dear friend lent me a book on basic ribbon embroidery by Ann Cox," shares artist Mohna Paranjpe, who continues, "That was the beginning of a wonderful journey which included finding all the material locally and learning as well as creating new designs." Paranjpe recalls that practising ribbon embroidery has been exasperating but her patience and perseverance have eventually paid off.
Her family and friends formed a constant critical appreciation group, which encouraged her to learn more and do better but also suggested interesting additions with each frame. "Gradually, I learnt to combine fabric and ribbon painting along with the embroidery to get better effects," she says.

After being sought to teach the skill, Paranjpe held a couple of workshops and felt more confident about her art. With the desire to share this unique form, Paranjpe concludes, "Not only did the sessions give me the confidence to teach, but our creative interactions led me to try out new methods. Now, I would like to share my happiness with art lovers, hence, this exhibition."
