Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett might feature as one of the new female leads in the third installment of the 'Thor' film franchise
Oscar-winning actress Cate Blanchett may soon be joining the Marvel universe as she is in talks to star in Thor: Ragnarok. As per sources, Blanchett might play one of the new female leads in the third instalment of the Thor series.
Blanchett, who has received a Golden Globe nomination for Carol, would be essaying her first major comic book role in Ragnarok. Taika Waiti will direct the third installment in the popular Thor franchise with Chris Hemsworth returning to play the lead role.
Blanchett’s character in the superhero sequel isn’t known. Ragnarok will also feature Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk and the villainous Tom Hiddleston who plays Loki in The Avengers universe.
Thor: Ragnarok is slated to release in November 2017.
