Top seeds among the men and women, Velavan Senthilkumar of Tamil Nadu and Akanksha Salunkhe of Goa won their respective open and age group events at the 72nd CCI-Western India Open squash tournament at the Cricket Club of India yesterday.

Velavan won the men's and boys U-19 titles, while Akanksha won the women's and girls U-19 crowns.

Akanksha beat the No 2 seed Urwashi Joshi of Jindal 11-5, 11-3, 11-5 for the women's crown, while Velevan beat Sandeep Jangra 13-11, 11-9, 11-8 for the men's crown.
